Seiji Carpenter was most recently involved with organizing with the League of Young Voters in San Francisco and giving trainings in Nevada and Colorado during the 2004 general election. His post-election travel intersected with the Tsunami in Thailand, where he worked with a local NGO to build a volunteer center, before moving on to doing international media for Thailand's anti-coup movement, and conducting virtual trainings for local health workers in Southern Africa.
Before that though, he got his real education working on Students Against Sweatshops and Living Wage campaigns at Northwestern, and with the Student Labor Action Project in Chicago. After graduating with a degree resembling policy, he completed the Coro Public Affairs Fellowship in San Francisco, before joining the progressive polling firm, David Binder Research, where he currently works. Current projects include Obama for America, bids to overturn the death penalty and restore affirmative action in California, and the re-election campaign of President Kibaki of Kenya. Side interests include Flavor pill where he writes about music.
