Since moving to Minnesota from Memphis, Tenn. Roy has created and developed recreational and musical programs for all age groups. As a musician, producer, poet and lyricist Roy developed non-violent music and entertainment and was a contributing writer for the Whittier Globe community newspaper. Roy honed his community organizing skills as the Director of Whittier Park, the first Neighborhood Revitalization Plan community in Minneapolis, and has managed urban parks and recreational facilities in both Memphis and Minneapolis.
In 2003 Roy was a student manager for the NCAA women basketball team at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and was voted best intercultural communicator while at UWRF.
